Seize the Moment Together
Across the country, support and care is under real pressure. More people need help, families are carrying more worry, commissioners are making difficult decisions, and providers are working hard to find, keep and grow skilled, caring people. These pressures are real, but they also remind us why this work matters so deeply.
There is hope too. Adult social care is being recognised as a national priority, with clearer commitments to reform, fair pay, stronger career pathways, better use of technology and a future National Care Service. That matters, because it recognises what we have always known. Enabling, care and support change lives, strengthen communities and deserve respect, investment and belief.
This could be a turning point. We can allow the challenges to make us smaller, or we can use them to become braver, kinder and more determined. At ubu, we will keep moving forward with purpose.
Now is the time to turn warm words into brave action. Support must be more personal, more creative and more rooted in what people say matters most.
We must work together. The people we serve, their families, colleagues, partners, providers and commissioners. We must listen harder, learn faster, speak honestly and refuse to settle for support that simply manages a life when it could help someone grow.
The future will be shaped by the choices we make every day, the standards we keep, the people we value, the relationships we build and the courage we bring when things feel difficult.
This is the moment to stand together and raise our expectations. To make enabling, care and support feel more alive, more hopeful and more worthy of the people who trust us.
Let us shape a future together where people live fully, colleagues feel proud, and enabling, care and support truly thrive.
